Maintain Your Health During This Pandemic Period.
In life, there’s one prominent thing that contributes quite a lot in the determination of success. And it is in fact a very vital aspect of human existence is, “Health” Yeah, that’s correct.
Health plays an incredibly crucial part of one’s life. When you were a kid, you would have heard or read somewhere this quote ‘Health is wealth’ and probably left it right there because you could not make sense of it.
However, it could not be more accurate in today’s world. The times that we live in today are exponentially fast. As you are growing up, you find yourself stuck in some academic jargon that stressed you out—been there myself.
It is not pretty. Nevertheless, you eventually make out of there successfully and enter this new world which does not care for the lazy and does not have a place for runners up. That is where a lot of things come into perspective, especially the importance of Health.
Ignorance of Health
I wonder why Health is so often ignored. If it were not for your Health, you would not have been able to keep up in this marathon.
I cannot stress enough the importance of having a nutritious diet. With balanced eating, we can not only create healthier societies but happier too. There is bound to be fewer diseases, and life expectancy will surprisingly go up.
Perhaps, I was most shocked when I read that a lack of exercise now causes as many deaths as cigarette smoking, or maybe when I read that 30% of the world’s population is obese.
That is insane. Obesity eventually leads to heart diseases or diabetes. Ask these people, and they would let you know what they are willing to give up to get rid of these illnesses.
A little bit of exercise daily in the morning or evening will not only keep you active, but consistency in such an endeavor would also allow you to reap long-term benefits too.
An active body means a keen mind, and it is attributed to the proper blood flow.
A question arises here. What is Health?
As defined by, World Health Organization. ‘Health is a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity’.
This means a healthy person needs to be active from all three perspectives: an excellent fettle physique, a healthy mind, and a sound social-ness.
Georges Canguilhem, a French physicist, wrote a book named ‘The Normal and the Pathological’ in which he said that Health is not a fixed entity.
It can’t be measured statistically, nor can it be defined mechanistically. It is an ability to adapt to the environment and varies from person to person.
No doctor or physician is in a position to decide if the person is healthy or not. It is in one’s self-determining authority. So taking it as adaptation is more of a compassionate and comforting idea.
As we all are self quarantined, being health-conscious, we have to reorganize our schedules in these days of this global pandemic.
Enroll in Academic Activities
There are several activities that I recommend every individual to encode in their daily routine so one can stay active and keep learning new things.
Some several academies and platforms are providing free skill courses to enhance your skill and excel in your life.
These platforms include Google, Moz, Ahref, and Udemy. Google is providing tutoring services to students, teachers, and office employees. It has different courses for students to dominate the field of freelancing and earn the right amount, staying at home.
Moz and Ahref are known for their search engine optimization techniques and tools, helping millions of users rank their website as per Google algorithm.
Udemy is an academic website where they are providing millions of courses, on almost every service or skill. It has paid as well as free classes available for the students to access them easily.
Udemy has different courses available from different mentors; moreover, we can access various courses and services by using the filter option available on their website.
Likewise, if you are working too much and haven’t got enough sleep, remember sleep is essential for our bodies as it clears toxins and repairs cells. Sleep deprivation has many adverse effects on our body as it increases the chances of many diseases, such as Diabetes, Heart diseases, and obesity.
During this current situations, we all are encased inside our homes, and this may be the common factor for stress and anxiety, the feeling of being copped up may lead an individual to stress factors.
It is advised that one should use any open area where fresh air and sunlight directly reaches the ground may be beneficial to sock some Vitamin D.
It is also essential to exercise to avoid stress factors, another tip to save your day is, stay connected with your friends and family, set up different groups with your colleagues, sending daily updates and organizing video chats will feel you less alone during current situations.
Self Care is important
Self-care is another practice you haven’t gone through just because of your busy routine and workload, and It’s not easy to let go the habits such as sleeping late, spending the whole day surfing on the internet, and spending time on useless activities.
Self-care is the name of looking after yourself, for your mental peace and to stay positive, and sometimes we hardly get time for washing our face due to workload.
Remember to take these necessary steps, get a good sleep and lower your screen time before sleeping, and it will help you to have a good sleep cycle, develop healthy eating habits and stay hydrated.
